  • APPLICATION ENGINEER

    Seeking experienced engineer with high temperature thermal energy application background. Individuals should have previous work experience on applications for thermal energy processes, HVAC, or heavy industrial industries. The successful candidate must have a manufacturing background. Successful people in this role have had previous work experience with companies such as York, Trane, Carrier or any other manufacturer of high temperature heat exchangers. Knowledge of Absorption Chiller systems, past experiences in steam or process heat a plus.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Will have BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 5 years industry experience. Must be able to work in a team environment, above average written and oral communication skills, strong ability to interface with customers and internal sales teams.

  • CONTROLLER

    We are seeking a person who can direct financial activities of our organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This individual must have strong analytical, problem solving and oral communication skills.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
    • Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs.
    • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
    • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
    • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
    • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
    • Develops business processes and internal controls that ensure developed application meets all project requirements.

  • PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Will be responsible for managing development technologies, including prototypes, involved in the development, scale-up and commercialization of Solar MicroCSP technologies. Provide technical expertise and support to Research personnel, as well as Technical Service, Engineering and Sales. Contribute to the improvement of Sopogy's understanding and knowledge base for the fundamentals of Concentrated Solar Power. Will provide significant external interactions with technology partner companies, including technical exchange meetings and technology symposiums. Provide on an as needed basis direct support of sales, in conjunction with established Sales personnel.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Qualified candidates will possess either a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering together with 10 years relevant research & development work experience in the Solar or Energy industry, or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or general engineering.
  • SOLAR SOLUTIONS CENTER MANAGER (SPAIN)

    Location: Madrid, Spain

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    We are looking for an experienced solar-solutions center manager for our office in Madrid, Spain. Sopogy is expanding rapidly in Europe and especially in large solar power projects in the southern Spain region. We are looking for a manager to run the local technical sales and engineering support center for our customers and provide excellent customer service before, during, and after major solar project developments. The key responsibility will be to act as the main customer interface and account manager for our customers in Spain and surrounding European regions. The successful candidate will also manage a team consisting of a technical sales/applications engineer, and support staff and to help drive the revenue opportunities in Spain. He/She will be responsible for revenue forecasts and regular communications/reporting with our offices in Hawaii and California.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Qualified candidates will possess extensive experience in the solar market with knowledge of local government regulations, incentives, and key decision makers in Spain. Ability to communicate and negotiate contracts in Spanish and English are required for the position. He/She must be a team player, able to provide world-class customer service, and help achieve key revenue targets for the company. Preference to have some technical or engineering background in the solar or related fields, so that key benefits of the Sopogy solar solution can be articulated clearly to our existing and potential customers/partners. Strong people management skills will be required to maintain high customer satisfaction and retention of key personnel in the solar solutions center.
  • THERMAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER

    Location: Honolulu, HI

    As part of our US Engineering team we are seeking a self motivated individual with experience in air and liquid heat transfer and thermodynamics. Candidates with 3 or more years of commercial experience are preferred, however, qualified recent college grads with strong directly related academic and intern experience will be considered. Most important is a strong working knowledge of thermal software modeling and 3D CAD packages. This position will entail helping our customers efficiently solve their thermal issues. The successful candidate will work on new product designs, will occasionally travel supporting our customers, and will occasionally give basic thermal seminars. This position will also entail developing manufacturing processes and cost estimating. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

    Responsibilities
    • Performs product development & engineering support for the full Thermal Management product line.
    • Performs pre-sales support to our US sales team in developing new customer required thermal solutions.
    • Performs engineering design & support activities for our US and China manufacturing facilities
    • Provides thermal seminars and custom demonstrations for the full Thermal Management product line.
    • Performs basic post-sales activities, such as customer implementations, project management, power user sessions, user group meetings, etc
    • Attendance of industry related trade shows, seminars and conferences as required
    • Build strong, working relationships within corporate and client organizations

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters degree a strong plus) Thermal certifications or degrees preferred.
    • 3 to 5 years of practical mechanical engineering experience in a production environment. 2 or more years of thermal engineering design experience.
    • Strong mechanical design background with Thermal engineering experience.
    • Strong CFD thermo modeling experience with Icepak or equivalent and 3D CAD experience with either Pro/E, SolidWorks, or other top tier 3D package.
    • Highly developed general knowledge of manufacturing processes including: Machining, Stamping, Extrusion, Plastic Molding, and Die cast are desired.
    • Ability to consider and include cost estimates in practical design considerations
    • Ability to convey advanced concepts clearly and concisely to communicate technology applications, features, benefits and value propositions
    • Strong organizational and time management skills coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Foreign language skills in Chinese a plus.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
    • Start-up and/or new technology launch experience a plus
