What we Do
Sopogy pioneered Micro-Scaled Concentrating Solar Power or "MicroCSP" technolgies. Sopogy's MicroCSP systems cost the same to install conventional Photovoltaic solar systems but increase the amount of energy generated bringing better investment returns to our customers. MicroCSP uses concentrating mirrors with optics, low cost thermal storage, sun tracking, and a affordable systems installation technique to keep the costs down while delivering a quick payback. MicroCSP technologies are used to create Process Heat, Solar Air Conditioning or Electrical Power and can be ground or rooftop mounted opening an entirely new market for CSP systems. About Us
Sopogy was originally founded in 2002 by the Honolulu, Hawaii based clean-technology incuabtor Energy Laboratories, We are focused at developing the new sector of solar known as "MicroCSP." Our initial funding came from our company founder Darren T. Kimura and we have been venture capital backed since 2006 with our lead investors TCG, Blackriver Asset Management an independently managed subsidiary of Cargill, Inc., SPI and other professional investment firms.
Keahole Solar Power
Keahole Solar Power or "KSP" developer of utility scaled solar solutions was spun out of Sopogy in 2007 and sold to private investors in 2009.
